his week, the Midjourney’s Niji team released a mobile app called Niji Journey, and you probably don’t want to miss it. Essentially, it brought back the free trial that had been removed from Midjourney. So if you’re not a fan of Discord or want to try Midjourney for free, we will show you how to do it.
How to download Midjourney app
The Niji Journey app is available on Android and IOS. Go to the app store and search for Niji journey. Download the app, open it, and either create a new account or just press the “Get Started” button.
How to generate Midjourney v5 images
You will receive 20 free image generations after you sign up. This app was initially created for the Niji model which focuses on anime-styled images, but you can choose the Midjourney v5 by pressing the palette icon.
Type your prompt into the input line and press this magic wand to generate the images.
As you can see we got images generated by Midjourney v5. If we compare the images with ones generated by Midjourney’s Discord bot we can see that this app really uses Midjourney version 5.

You can also change the “stylize” option to make the results look more beautiful.
You can select the image you like, upscale it, and save it on your device.
Other Midjourney features from Discord like variations and zooms are also available on the app.
You can also change the images aspect ratio, use an older Midjourney model, version 4 and access the community gallery.
When you run out of your free generations you can purchase a subscription. Plans are similar to Midjourney and if you already have a Midjourney subscription you can use your Discord account to log in and generate images on the app. The app introduces a new Mini subscription plan for $4.99/month which is even cheaper than the basic plan for regular Midjourney. If you purchase it on the app you should be able to use it on Discord as well.

While this app’s main focus is the Niji model and it’s more targeted at Asian countries it’s still great that we now have access to Midjourney outside of Discord this means that the developer team is actively working on the announced Midjourney website a place where we will be able to generate images without using the Discord bot and maybe in the near future we will even see the release of the main MidJourney mobile app. No matter what happens we will keep you updated on our YouTube channel as well as on our website.
